We only had one day in Managua, and, fortunately for us, we spent it with Nestor of Nestournic. We saw all of the highlights, learned so much about the history and culture, enjoyed a fantastic lunch, and ended our day feeling connected to this beautiful country in a way that we weren't before, even though this wasn't our first trip here. Everything about the day was first class. The transportation was clean and new, and Nestor handled everything for us. All we had to do was enjoy the spectacular day!Posted on TripadvisorVerified Knowledgeable, fun, and reliable—highly recommend Nestor We had a short stay in Managua and booked a full-day tour with Nestor of Nestournic— easily the highlight of our time in Managua. Nestor is a knowledgeable, easygoing great guide who's genuinely fun to spend the day with. He packed a lot in without ever making it feel rushed. We saw Masaya Volcano, took in views at Catarina and explored beautiful Granada. In Oriente we met the workshop's owner—a multi-generation master ceramicist—which was a real treat. We browsed local crafts at the Masaya market, stopped at Bate Bate Chocolate and had an excellent lunch at The Garden Cafe in Granada. Nestor also handled all our transfers to get us out to Calala Island—our main reason for coming to the NiCaribbean—and made the whole logistics side seamless and stress-free. If you're staying near Managua and want to see the best of the area—or need someone reliable to coordinate travel further afield—I recommend Nestor without hesitation. My husband and I had 1 full day to explore Managua, prior to going to Calala Island. Nestor gave us lots of different options and we chose a full day tour to Mambacho Volcano, Catarina Vista and Market, and Granada city and boat tour. There were more options, but he let us pick a slower pace for the day… that involved lots of eating :). The sights were amazing and we learned so much about the country. The best part of our tour was talking to Nestor! His conversation was so insightful, kind, and fun.Posted on TripadvisorVerified A fantastic visit to Managua and beyond We’ve had the good fortune of working with Nestor on two visits to Nicaragua. And he has been absolutely fantastic both times. Our first visit we toured the sites of Managua and the Masaya volcano ahead of a visit to Calala Island. Nestor had great insight and made us feel completely safe and taken care of the entire time. On a more recent visit he brought us to Popoyo with a lovely stop in Catarina along the way. Aurora war wie ein wandelndes Lexikon und konnte direkt zu allen Fragen eine passende Antwort geben. Die Tour war auf Englisch, informativ und absolut verständlich. Die Tour ist sehr zu empfehlen. Auch die Absprache für notwendige Transfers zum Hotel bzw. Flughafen waren sehr gut. Hat alles wunderbar geklappt und würden wir so auch immer wieder machen. Wir fühlten uns zu jeder Zeit sicher und perfekt aufgehoben. Vielen lieben Dank und alles Gute an Nestor und Team.Posted on TripadvisorVerified City tour – last minute booking Nestor was able to squeeze us in for a city tour on a long layover before our flight out of Managua back to the states. While he had a few options with our short window of time, he was also able to accommodate some specific requests, including coffee and a chocolatier. Nestor was fantastic and shared all sorts of insights about the region and culture that we really enjoyed learning about. I would not hesitate to link up with him and book another tour to see an active volcano or Granada if we are able to make it back to Nicaragua.
