They were all very knowledgeable on the local history and culture and extremely friendly. He was incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Nicaragua’s history, wildlife, and culture, which made the whole day both interesting and enjoyable. We explored the beautiful city of Granada, visited the Masaya tourist market for souvenirs, and took a boat trip around the islets of Lake Nicaragua, where we saw wildlife and some stunning homes. We finished the day at Masaya Volcano in the evening, where we were able to see the incredible glow of the lava—a truly memorable experience! It was a brilliant way to experience so many highlights of Nicaragua in one day. Both times, he was punctual and very professional. His vehicle is clean and has AC blowing cold, which is much needed when you are in Nicaragua. We booked the Masaya Volcano tour and Nestor picked us up at the hotel. He had drinks for us in the car and he gave us a tour of the city before arriving to the Masaya Volcano. He gave us a history lesson of Nicaragua. He was very knowledgable about the Masaya Volcano and took the time to answer all of our questions. At the end of our tour, Nestor even went out of his way to take us to the supermarket to buy food to bring back to our hotel. Overall, the tour was amazing and Nestor's professionalism made our stay in Nicaragua memorable. He is the ultimate tour guide. He picked us up at the airport, brought us to our hotel to check in and drop bags, and took us on a full day adventure. He is very warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the time in Granada, the lake tour to see monkeys and mansions at Las Isletas, and his expert knowledge about the best time to see the volcano. We only had one day in Managua, and, fortunately for us, we spent it with Nestor of Nestournic. We saw all of the highlights, learned so much about the history and culture, enjoyed a fantastic lunch, and ended our day feeling connected to this beautiful country in a way that we weren't before, even though this wasn't our first trip here. Everything about the day was first class. The transportation was clean and new, and Nestor handled everything for us. Nestor is a knowledgeable, easygoing great guide who's genuinely fun to spend the day with. He packed a lot in without ever making it feel rushed. We saw Masaya Volcano, took in views at Catarina and explored beautiful Granada. In Oriente we met the workshop's owner—a multi-generation master ceramicist—which was a real treat. We browsed local crafts at the Masaya market, stopped at Bate Bate Chocolate and had an excellent lunch at The Garden Cafe in Granada. Nestor also handled all our transfers to get us out to Calala Island—our main reason for coming to the NiCaribbean—and made the whole logistics side seamless and stress-free. If you're staying near Managua and want to see the best of the area—or need someone reliable to coordinate travel further afield—I recommend Nestor without hesitation.
